What made you choose to come to Auburn?
From the day I was born, my father, an alumnus of Auburn, instilled within me the values this university holds so dear: hard work, education, and honesty just to name a few. My family also came to many home football games, and often came to visit friends here at Auburn. It was this knowledge that the students at Auburn share my values and my familiarity with the Auburn campus and traditions that made my decision to come to Auburn very easy.

How has receiving the Alumni Scholarship impacted your life? Receiving the Alumni Scholarship has impacted my life by giving me opportunities I might not have otherwise had. Without this scholarship, I probably would be working during the semester. Instead, I am able to take the time and money saved by having received the scholarship and it put it towards more important things, such as studying and getting involved on campus.

What has been your best experience at Auburn so far? The best experience I have had at Auburn so far was interviewing for, and getting, a position on a Tiger Tuesdays committee. Working hard in preparation for the interview and coming out of it like I had done my very best was a wonderful feeling. Even better, though, was when I heard my name being called out for REACH. I felt like for the first time, I had achieved one of my goals without anyone else's help. It was this sweet feeling of accomplishment that made this my best experience.

What would you say to a high school student from your area who is considering coming to Auburn University? The best advice I can give to any student from my high school is to get involved. Coming to an out-of-state school is unbelievably overwhelming, but meeting people and doing things on campus is the best way to make your transition easier.
