The 20-member council represents a variety of colleges/schools, graduation years and geographic locations. The council’s primary mission is to support the goals and mission of the Auburn Alumni Association, specifically on matters pertaining to Black alumni.

The Nominating Committee of the Auburn Alumni Association Black Alumni Council is requesting applications from alumni for our open council member positions. Qualified nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a graduate of Auburn University on the date their initial term begins.
  • Willing to serve a two-year term as a council member
  • Serve on a volunteer basis;
  • Attend all scheduled Black Alumni Council meetings and any other functions they have committed.
  • Make a philanthropic gift annually

Selection criteria will be based upon past experiences, including leadership roles, past involvement as a supporter and advocate of Auburn University as a student and/or alumnus, letters of recommendations, letter/statement of interest, involvement and participation Black Alumni activities and programs. Selection criteria may also consider the demographic composition of the Council to ensure a diverse and inclusive Council regarding majors, graduation year, identity, etc.

The completed application form must be submitted electronically. Once submitted, you will not be able to edit the form. Qualified applicants, and Incomplete applications received after the deadline of May 26, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CDT will not be accepted.
