Auburn Creed Grants

Auburn Creed Grants are awarded to Auburn faculty, staff and students whose initiative, project or program best exemplify the Auburn Creed. These grants are for Auburn and about Auburn.

Creed Grant funds may be used for purposes which are programmatic in nature, support the mission of the Creed Grants program and further the mission of Auburn University.

How Will the Creed Grants Be Awarded?

Auburn Creed Grants will be awarded annually after a review process that begins by you submitting your Letter of Inquiry. Auburn Creed Grants will be awarded within three categories: awards $10,000-$24,999, $25,000-$50,000 and $50,000-$100,000. If you are unsure if your request will fit in one of these award categories, please email CreedGrants@auburn.edu for more information.

Submit Your Letter of Inquiry

We are now accepting letters of inquiry for Auburn Creed Grant consideration. If your letter is approved you will be invited to submit a formal proposal by December 16, 2024. If your proposal is approved you will be invited to pitch in person in March 2025 and the grants will be awarded around June 2025.

Who can apply for a Creed Grant?

All Auburn University students, faculty and staff are eligible to apply.

What can Creed Grant funds be used for?

Creed Grant funds may be used for purposes which are programmatic in nature, promote the student experience and align with Auburn University.

What can Creed Grants not be used for?

Typically, we do not provide sustainable, operational budgets or fund the construction of physical spaces for programs. Grants will not be awarded for nonprofit organizations outside of Auburn University.

How much is a Creed Grant Award?

Auburn Creed Grants will be awarded within three categories: awards $10,000-$24,999, $25,000-$50,000 and $50,000-$100,000. All awards are based on program budget submitted with formal application.

Who can utilize Creed Grant funds?

Creed Grant funds must be utilized by the entity that directly requested the grant. Grant funds cannot be utilized for purposes outside of outlined uses in formal application. All entities requesting grants will be required to have an Auburn University Tiger Buy Account prior to awarding.

How soon do I have to spend the Creed Grant funds?

If awarded, funds should be budgeted and utilized, per the grant application, within 12 months of being awarded.

What makes a Creed Grant Letter of Inquiry or Application stand out?

We like for the Letter of Inquiry or Application to clearly tie back into the Auburn Creed and to have a positive impact on the student experience, university or the Auburn Family.

Are Creed Grants single or multi-year awards?

Currently, all Auburn Creed Grants are awarded annually for a single awarding cycle. Applicants may reapply for additional awarding cycles.

How is the Auburn Creed Grant program different from Tiger Giving Day?

The Creed Grant Program awards existing funds to campus programs, with goals that range from $10,000 – $100,000.

Tiger Giving Day provides campus programs with an opportunity to solicit funds from donors via an online crowdfunding platform. Goals for Tiger Giving Day are curated to be feasible and achievable within a 24-hour period and typically range from $5,000 – $30,000. Tiger Giving Day is desirable for programs wishing to grow their donor base and gain visibility about their cause.
